The Montreal Gay Men’s Chorus was founded in 2005, almost 10 years ago. It is a male vocal ensemble directed by Jacques Lachapelle, a talented and dinamic leader. Every week, we get together to share our passion for song and music in a convivial atmosphere. And during the year, we get the chance to participate en various évents.
The CGDM is currently recruiting new choir members (Tenor 1 and 2, Baryton and Base) as we are starting our new season in September. We practice on Wednesday nights in the village between 6:45pm and 9:45pm. Signup fees are 275$ (150$ in September and 125$ in January). Auditions will be held in the month of August.
The CGDM will hold its anual concert on May 23 and 24, 2014 at the Salle du Gesù. During the year, we normally participate during the Farha Foundation Aids Walk, World Aids Day and the Day Against Homophobia, among others.
In June of 2014, the choir will travel to Europe. We are invited by Melo’men to participate in two concerts in Paris and we will then travel to Various Voices in Dublin which will host over 80 LGBT choirs from Europe and the Americas.
